PRINICPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Arrives as scheduled based on need.
· Assists in the operation of the Community Action Kitchen, assuring conformance to governmental and agency regulations, policies and procedures and dietary and nutritional guidelines.
· Assists and ensures the timely and accurate preparation of meals for delivery to Head Start sites through utilization of standardized recipes in accordance with guidelines set forth.
· Assists in determination of use and/or storage of left-over foods.
· Adheres to all health and safety standards in accordance with Health Department, USDA, CACFP and Community Action.*
· Maintains sanitary kitchen facilities, supplies, and equipment.*
· Ensures sanitary general housekeeping and ongoing preventative maintenance of the kitchen.*
· Assists in receiving, storing, and inventorying all food and supply products.*
· Participates in food delivery *
· Assists with food preparation.
· Packs coolers & cambros for food transportation and packs supplies for each site.
· Submits reports and documentation in a timely manner.
· Orients, trains, and supervises volunteers.
· All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to lift and move up to 60 pounds.
· Must have ability to bend and twist at waist.
· Must have the ability to squat and bend at knee.
· Must have the ability to push/pull a minimum of 30 lbs.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· Must have the ability to travel in motor vehicle for hours at a time and have physical mobility to move in and out of motor vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Job requires knowledge normally acquired through a general high school education or equivalent.
Experience: Between six months and one year of progressively more responsible or expansive experience is required.
